This course is designed to provide you with a basic understanding of the new IBM ESS 2105 Models F20 and F10. The students will get hands-on experience with the ESS Specialist and discuss performance features of the ESS subsystem.

Through the use of hands-on lab projects, you will also learn how to configure the ESS and create logical volumes for various UNIX and

Windows environments.  Students will then be able to manage and administrate the ESS subsystems you have acquired.

PREREQUISITES:

(SS050E) - Introduction to Data Storage or equivalent knowledge.

Students should be familiar with using a workstation and mouse.

Students should be able to use the Netscape browser for point and click functions related to ESS configuration exercises.
